Volatile Mars & Unseen Influences

Exo planets and lunar nodes have one thing in common: both are not visible to naked eye, indicating subtler, hidden influences, and subconscious tensions which are now being brought to the surface by the fire of Mars. We may expect tensions, frictions, karmic reactivity and sharpness of fire during this volatile period.

Fire, however, doesn’t only burn – it also purifies. Through heat and tension it helps us see and name things which we might have been denying. And as much as we may feel its heat during this period, the fire is also the bringer of light and dispeller of darkness – the remover of outdated delusions. It calls us towards self-actualisation.

Mars in Perfect Square with Rahu / Ketu Axis

29 June – 2 July 2026

This period will begin with Mars reaching a perfect square position with the lunar nodes: Rahu and Ketu being precisely 90 degrees away from it. On 29-30 June Mars will be in perfect square with true nodes, while on 1-2 July it will be in perfect square with mean nodes. During this time Mars will be simultaneously moving through Krittika Nakshatra.

Mars in Krittika is already sharp. Krittika is associated with Agni, the fire that separates raw from refined. Mars here acts like a knife, scalpel, flame, or verdict: it wants to cut through confusion and expose what is useful versus what is waste.

With the nodes involved, this becomes karmic, reactive, and amplified.  Rahu in the Aquarius/Dhanishta zone points toward collective rhythm, networks, technology, groups, ambition, and social momentum. Ketu in Magha points backward into lineage, authority, pride, inherited identity, and ancestral patterns.

The risk is impulsive severing: burning bridges, making declarations too quickly, acting from outrage, or forcing a break before the truth has fully settled. But the gift of fire is also purification. Mars squaring the nodes may help us cut through a false alliance, naming a pattern, ending performative loyalty, or refusing to keep feeding a karmic loop.

This alignment will also coincide with the upcoming Full Moon in Purvashadha Nakshatra, which can make emotions rise high, but also promises an auspicious resolution, and wisdom arising from the initial transformation.

Mars & Uranus – Meeting on Same Degree

3 – 4 July 2026

Just a few days later, on 3-4 July, Mars will transit through Uranus stationed in last degrees Krittika Nakshatra. This is the peak charge.

Mars is heat, speed, aggression, courage, surgery, conflict, and action. Uranus is rupture, electricity, rebellion, sudden reversal, awakening, shocks, accidents, innovation, and liberation. In Krittika, both are placed in a nakshatra that already cuts, burns, separates, and purifies.

This can manifest as sudden decisions, technical breakthroughs, accidents caused by haste, explosive speech, abrupt endings, nervous-system overload, or a fierce need to break free from something stale. Because this occurs in sidereal Taurus, the terrain is not abstract: sign of Taurus represents our embodied self, as well as the topics of sensuality, possessions, food, money, and basic stability into the picture. Tensions may easily arise arose those earthly topics related to our self-worth and sense of safety.

The meeting of two volatile planets in sidereal Taurus will also make some of our already fixed plans or realities break apart or no longer possible to maintain. A value system, attachment, resource pattern, comfort habit, or bodily rhythm may be shocked into change. Avoiding transformation and clinging to old comfort will be no longer an option. It may also give us a stronger push to move towards the right direction and change those things in our lives which might have been calling for a change since long time already.

Mars & Pluto – Perfect Trine

Shortly after the peak fire of the meeting of Uranus and Mars, the latter will leave Krittika Nakshatra and enter a more stable, earthly domain of Rohini. After the initial storm, the energy of Mars in Rohini will turn now towards rebuilding, growth and embodiment.

The perfect trine with Pluto, however, that will be formed right upon Mars’ entry into Rohini, indicates that some of the desires that will originally emerge in us in this period, may still come from old conditioning, old survival fears or inherited scarcity. We will be inspired to have a closer look at these outdated patterns and subconscious compulsions that are still trying to hold us back and fall back into familiar delusion. This will be a powerful time for healing the deep, unconscious patterns and unblending from outdated survival strategies, as they will be more clearly seen by us in this period.

The gift of this entire period is the possibility to move beyond the stubborn patterns that may have been limiting us for a long time already. The challenge is to how to harness the volatile energy of fire, so that it becomes transformative instead of destructive.
