Mars Entering Its Mulatrikona
Tomorrow Mars will be crossing the transformative gandanta zone between sidereal Pisces and sidereal Aries.

This is a particularly powerful transition for Mars. After almost month and a half in sidereal Pisces, where its fire was suppressed in the deep waters of Mina Rashi, and struggled through slowing down influence of Saturn, the inner spark will be reignited again in Aries, which is the Mulatrikona of Mars.
Sign of Aries, the most fiery of all signs, represents Agni, the Vedic fire. The very animal of the sign of Aries, ram, is a vahana or a divine carrier of Agni in Vedic philosophy, representing the power of sacrifice – and reminding us that for our inner fire to shine brightly something often has to be sacrificed on the way.
Spiritually speaking it also reminds us of the truth that Lord Krishna keeps repeating throughout the Bhagavad Gita: only the action which is taken in a spirit of sacrifice, or with an attitude of offering it to the Divine, liberates us and purifies us.
This time, for almost entire duration of Mars’ stay in Aries, he will be experiencing Papa Kartari Yoga, symbolic pressure from two cruel planets on both of its sides (Saturn in Pisces and Sun in Taurus). Simultaneously, when Mars will be staying in Aries, Ketu will continue to dwell in another fiery rashi, Leo. This combination will give rise to Papa Kona Yoga and a significant increase in volatility of fire element in the sky.
In this period we will be called to handle the new spark of inner fire with caution; to not burn out too fast, to not sacrifice more than it’s necessary, and to remember to slow down, whenever we feel the inner heat is rising or energy becomes volatile. Although this time may bless us with more energy to move forward and greater productivity, we are simultaneously cautioned to remember that everything has a cost. This will be a time of fire and friction – and fire can either refine us or burn us, depends how mindfully are we handling it.
A beautiful practice to incorporate into your daily routine in this period is intentional slowing down from time to time. Whenever you are not actually in hurry, try doing any simple daily activity, like washing the dishes, brushing your teeth or eating, slower than usual, being truly present in the moment. Because fire is grounded through conscious presence. When we resist the urge to jump straight into action, and allow ourselves to firstly take a breath and re-center, the fire no longer burns us – it realigns with our inner light.
