Important Transits

Jupiter in Punarvasu Nakshatra

1 – 18 June 2026

In the first days of his transit through sidereal Cancer, Jupiter will be transiting through Punarvasu Nakshatra – the lunar mansion bridging sidereal Gemini and sidereal Cancer and representing a symbolic transition from the mind focused on duality and polarities of the outside into reconnecting more with quiet, implicit wisdom of the heart. Punarvasu Nakshatra, ruled by Aditi, the mother of gods, who represents the all-pervading ether element, symbolises return of hope and vastness, and dissolution of seeming conflicts and limitations.

Yet, although the presence of Jupiter exalted in this lunar mansion can support us into dissolving old limitations and outdated mental patterns, many of our outdated beliefs and fears that are still holding us back may resurface during this period. For entire duration of this transit Saturn will be occupying the transformative 22nd nakshatra from Jupiter (also known as vinashika tara representing dissolution of old identity), while Ketu will be occupying the 4th nakshatra (kshema tara representing our inner self). It’s a powerful time for inner transformation and reflection, but we may not get fully yet the true expansive feeling of Jupiter exalted in this period. It’s the time of preparation and unrooting the old.

Jupiter in Pushya Nakshatra

18 June – 19 August 2026

Pushya Nakshatra is the lunar mansion of Brihaspati himself, as well as Jupiter’s true exaltation place. Here the expansive energy of Jupiter flourishes and helps us grow and blossom. Jupiter’s power of expansion allows us here to cultivate qualities like compassion, generosity, forgiveness and intuitive wisdom. Additionally, between 16 July and 16 August Sun will join Jupiter in sidereal Cancer, creating a rare alignment of two sattvic planets in a sattvic rashi. We will feel a deeper connection to our spiritual self and its wisdom in this period, bringing our sense of identity and the roles we carry into alignment with higher purpose and what we believe in.

It will be one of the most spiritual potent times of this year, perfect for auspicious ceremonies, learning, creativity, new beginnings and deepening your spiritual practice. And, since Pushya is the star of nourishment and compassion, it is also a powerful time to for self-care, compassionate deeds, and nurturing those things, qualities and relations that matter to us.

Jupiter in Ashlesha Nakshatra

19 August – 31 October 2026

When Jupiter enters Ashlesha Nakshatra, the star of celestial serpents, his wisdom becomes more inward and intuitive, which makes it a very potent time for spiritual practice and honest self-reflection. It will be a powerful period for disentangling old, unconscious patterns that may be quietly running your life. In this time, rather than looking for knowledge in the outside, Jupiter will be inspiring us to find wisdom in nature, in what our bodies and emotions are quietly trying to tell us, and where our intuitive voice is leading us.

From 18 September onwards Mars will join Jupiter in sidereal Cancer, which for Mars is also a debilitation place. While Jupiter will be heading towards Ketu, it will be also followed from behind by Mars, and thus experiencing a Papa Kartari Yoga, tightly squeezed in between two cruel and fiery grahas. Although it will be a powerful time for personal transformation, it will also come with temporarily increased pressure and discomfort that accompanies any bigger change. We may experience more friction than usual and emotional churning in this period – but the wisdom that will emerge from this inner stirring will help us become better versions of ourselves.

When Jupiter will be approaching a threshold of gandanta (transformative zone on the border of sidereal Cancer and sidereal Leo) in the last days of October, we may feel a bit of resistance towards the necessary changes that need to be made in our lives. We may have increased tendency to hang onto the already known and safe comfort zone, which Cancer represents. This will be important time for reflection on what is still holding us back from embodying the version of our ourselves that we desire to be.

Jupiter Direct in Magha Nakshatra

31 October – 13 December 2026

Jupiter entering sidereal Leo will open us up to more energy of expansion, confidence, ambition and growth. We will be called to think bigger and find a larger purpose in life.

Simultaneously, when Jupiter will be moving in direct motion through Magha Nakshatra, Ketu will be simultaneously moving backwards to sidereal Cancer. Their paths will cross for the first time on 12 November.

The meeting of Ketu and Jupiter is a rare and highly spiritually charged planetary event. Last Jupiter and Ketu conjuction occurred 6 years ago. This particular conjuction is even more spiritually significant, as it will occur in Magha Nakshatra, the ancestral star of our spiritual roots, near the transformative gandanta zone, which represents the very center of our zodiacal third eye chakra – seat of our soul, identity and intuition. We may feel inspired in this time to step down from roles and identities than no longer feel ours, and step into a new emerging self or role that feels more authentic and aligned with our life purpose. This is also a powerful time for spiritual learning.

Jupiter Retrograde in Magha Nakshatra

13 December 2026 – 25 January 2027

Whenever Jupiter goes retrograde, he asks us to see which beliefs or knowledge that we hold became outdated and need actualisation. Jupiter going retrograde in Magha Nakshatra in particular may ask us to look into which beliefs are still ours to hold – and which of them are just the borrowed ideas of our family systems, ancestry or the collective. This will be a powerful time for self-reflection and working with our beliefs, but also a potent time for spiritual studies and meditation and personal transformation, as Jupiter will be moving in retrograde motion back towards the transformative gandanta zone representing the center of our third eye chakra.

Jupiter Retrograde in Ashlesha Nakshatra

25 January – 13 April 2027

When Jupiter will be revisiting its exaltation place in Cancer and Ashlesha Nakshatra in retrograde motion, we will be also inspired to revisit some of our unconscious patterns and emotional knots, which still hold us back from manifesting the reality we want. Jupiter retrograde in Ashlesha Nakshatra may bring to the surface unprocessed emotions and outdated survival strategies in order for us to integrate them, heal them and extract wisdom from them. This part of Jupiter’s transit will be not only highly supportive for reflection and shadow work, but also for spiritual practice and spiritual learning.

During this time, between 22 February and 2 March, Jupiter and Ketu will also cross paths for the second time in the sky. These few days might be particularly revealing and spirituall charged.

Jupiter Direct in Ashlesha Nakshatra

13 April – 26 June 2027

When Jupiter will go direct in Ashlesha Nakshatra to spend his last moments in the sign of its exaltation, we may feel a sudden relief, as if a big burden has shifted – or sudden realisation or healing. All the life lessons that we have been learning since the beginning of Jupiter’s entry into sidereal Cancer will now come to completion and it will become more clear where Jupiter was guiding us towards this entire time. This will be a powerful time for integration and moving more confidently and consciously towards these goals which we feel guided towards from within, while leaving the outdated patterns behind.

Between 20-23 April Jupiter exalted and Ketu will meet in the sky one last time. This few days will be particularly powerful for meditation and spiritual practice.
