Important Transits

Pollux is one of the nearest giant stars to our solar system. Located close to the junction between sidereal Gemini and sidereal Cancer it represents the junction between the intellectual and the emotional – as well as the junction between the idea and its manifestation or embodiment.

Punarvasu Nakshatra, through which Jupiter will be soon transitioning into its exaltation place, is the star ruled by Aditi, the mother of gods and the goddess of all-embracing space, representing stretching the boundaries of our understanding and inviting more spaciousness, vastness and compassion into the way we relate to the world.

The shakti or power of this lunar mansion is addressed in the Vedas as vasutva prapanna shakti – “the power to gain substance” or the power for the idea to manifest itself on the material plane. And for every idea to be born into this world a degree of struggle and effort is also required – as well as the courage to follow our instincts. Pollux was specifically seen in Greek mythology as a warrior twin, guided more instinct and feeling, rather than rational mind. Ptolemy wrote about it as a star carrying the martian energy of a passionate warrior.

These few days during which Jupiter is preparing for its final transition into sidereal Cancer, its exaltation place, will be particularly powerful for giving birth to something new, through following our instincts and putting in the right effort. But for some it can be also the time that will bring forth a degree of inner tension. Jupiter in proximity to Mars may have an increased tendency to get involved in unnecessary debates, confrontations and proving one’s point. Goddess Aditi, the presiding deity of Punarvasu Nakshatra, will continue reminding us in the following days, to stay open minded and symbolically “zoom out” whenever the emotions rise up, instead of getting caught up in the drama. In this few days Jupiter in Punarvasu Nakshatra will be trying to teach us how to hold space for contradictions instead of defending only one side of the polarity.
