Jupiter Exalted: The Most Awaited Transit of the Year

When Jupiter becomes exalted in the sky, especially during its movement through Punarvasu Nakshatra, we firstly experience it as return of hope and faith. Things suddenly look brighter and seem lighter than before. The burdens don’t seem so heavy and overwhelming anymore. The curiosity and enthusiasm for life becomes a greater part of our experience.

But it doesn’t happen from one moment to another. It is something that is gradually growing in us. And it is something that we can also help co-create in this auspicious moment in time by conscious practice of curiosity and alignment with the Divine.

The reason Jupiter, the planet of our intuitive wisdom, is exalted in sidereal Cancer, is because the Great Guru within becomes more intuitive and receptive in the sign of the Moon. Sign of Cancer represents zodiacal third eye chakra, particularly more feminine, receptive aspect of it, which is where intuitive insight can flow freely and inner wisdom emerge more effortlessly. This is why every time when Jupiter becomes exalted in the sky we feel greater alignment with our spiritual self and deeper connection with the Divine. It’s the most spiritually supportive transit that can be.

A unique thing about this particular transit of Jupiter exalted is how will it interact with other grahas in the sky.

When Jupiter will be entering its exaltation place in Cancer, Mars will be simultaneously occupying its mulatrikona in Aries and casting its fourth aspect on Jupiter from there. When both Jupiter and Mars are in Jagrat Avastha (awakened state), we experience a rare moment of alignment between our wisdom, purpose and ability to take action. This overlap will happen only between 1-20 June, which makes it an opportune time window for moving forward, initiating new things and getting things done.

Additionally, during this entire period (1-20 June) Mercury will also experience Jagrat Avastha seated in its own sign, Gemini. When three planets are simultaneously fully awake and conscious in the sky, shining in their high dignities, this is always considered a particularly powerful moment in time, which usually brings a greater sense of alignment and purpose, while opening the doors of possibility. Make sure to mark it in your calendar.

Jupiter is also at the moment a dispositor of Saturn transiting through sidereal Pisces. The moment Jupiter enters sidereal Cancer, he will not only elevate his signs and planets transiting through them, but he will also cast his benevolent ninth aspect on Saturn. This unique relationship between the two slow moving planets transiting through the signs of water element will also make the upcoming transit of Jupiter pregnant with spiritual potential and particularly supportive for bringing more discipline and dedication into our spiritual practice. The more Jupiter will advance in sidereal Cancer, the more we will feel the results of that.

It’s also worthy of noting that Jupiter will transit into sidereal Cancer while Moon (its new dispositor) will be moving through Mula Nakshatra (Jupiter’s mulatrikona) on that exact day. Parivartan Yoga between the two on the day of the transit will not only strengthen its significance, but also clearly points towards highly transformative aspect of this particular transit of Jupiter exalted. It won’t be only all about expansion and growth, but also about unrooting the old and making space for the new to grow.

It is noteworthy that during this transit of Jupiter through sidereal Cancer, Jupiter will also eventually reach a full conjuction with Ketu (later this year in Magha, and next year in Ashlesha), which is something that happened last time in 2020. We can expect big shifts and positive transformations heading our way – but they might require some sacrifices, too.
