Dormant Venus – 8 June to 2 September 2026

Every year Venus goes dormant for about 3 months. It happens when Venus enters the sign of Cancer (ruled by an enemy, Moon), proceeds to Leo (ruled by another enemy, Sun) and completes the cycle in Virgo, the sign of its debilitation.

Important Transits

During these 3 months Venus resides in the sky in a state known as Sushupti Avastha (deep sleep or dormant state) and Kshudhita Avastha (hungry or starving state). In this malnourished condition Venus often cannot fulfil its natural significations, thus making us feel dissatisfied, due to limited sense of inner fulfilment and happiness, increased sense of pressure (Venus represents effortlessness and comfort) and often some frustration experienced in the sphere of relations with other people.

In a state like that we are more prone than usually to project our dissatisfaction and our own weaknesses onto others. When Venus resides in such state we may also find it more difficult to appreciate the gifts that life is bringing us everyday and we may fail to notice their value or beauty. Conscious practice of gratitude, intentional curiosity, sending good intentions to others and small acts of kindness are some of the beautiful ways to strengthen our Venus in this period.

When Venus goes dormant in the sky, its energy also turns inwards, which makes it a potent time for self-reflection around Venusian topics in our life: where can we bring more harmony into our relations, where we are lacking kindness and compassion (towards ourselves or others), and which spheres of our life could benefit from more lightness, effortlessness, generosity or guilt-free pleasure.

Meditating with Goddess Lakshmi in this period can be particularly beneficial if you are experiencing the downside of this transit. Mother Lakshmi, presiding deity of heart chakra, helps us heal Venus in our birth chart and the heart within us.

How can you honour Venus in this period:

  • Give something good to the world daily – even if just a smile or a kind word.
  • Practice self-compassion everyday – because the change always starts from within.
  • Listen to this mantra of Goddess Lakshmi to uplift your Venus.
  • Try our guided meditations with Goddess Lakshmi (one of our bestsellers).
  • And if you want to take your practice even further in this time period, you may also like to engage in a 50-day long Meditative Journey with Lakshmi.
