Mrigashira

Search and fulfilment

I am Mrigashira.
I am swift like thought or the wind.
I am the inspiration that suddenly flows within.
I am the curiosity of the mind that searches for something more.
I teach you how to extract the true essence out of everything.
I remind you that your attention is your most precious resource.
The bliss you are looking for is within.

Mrigashira profile
oṁ eṁ mārgaśīrṣa nakṣatrayai namaḥ

Soma, the Divine nectar, represents the highest state of Divine fulfilment. But in our everyday life we often try to seek it in perishable happiness of external world and pleasures, instead of seeking it within.

“Soma is the mythical nectar of immortality, the very essence of life, which is pure bliss, ananda – the delight of the soul. ‘Soma, the Cheerer, yields whate’er the heart finds sweet’, say the words of the rigvedic hymn. This seeking of soma, “the juice of life” is inherent in every soul. We all seek some kind of happiness and bliss in life, and in our own way, each of us is trying to squeeze the juice out of life to enjoy it to the fullest. Yet, with distracted mind, our happiness never lasts forever. We seek bliss in perishable things of the material world, constantly running from one thing to another, but we fail to recognise the true essence of life hidden within us.
The true essence of life is the Divine Soul, the atma pervading the whole universe. The Supreme Self is “the taste of the water, the fragrance of the earth, the sound in the ether, the heat of the fire and the light of the Sun and the Moon”, as proclaims Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita. It is the unique quality and the true essence of everything, what is the highest and best in all things.”

– Journey with the Moon

Having power of finding fulfilment as its shakti, Moon, the mind, is always searching its fulfilment in external things and experiences – forgetting that its own name is Soma, “the nectar”. It is only when mind finally stops searching, pauses for a moment and stays peacefully absorbed in the present moment, where there is no sense of lack or desire, that it find its true inner happiness, true soma – and true fulfilment.
Mrigashira nakshatra, with head of a deer as its symbol (mrigashira literally means “head of a deer”) and Soma, the fickle Moon, as its deity, is always on search. Airy in nature, with two of its padas in earthly Taurus and two other padas in Gemini, it is always somewhere between heaven and earth – which can give birth to indecisiveness, too. Moon in this nakshatra gives birth to a very swift, active mind and whenever Moon is transiting this lunar mansion our mind can become overly active, distracted and ungrounded, doing too many things at the same time and searching for its fulfilment in too many places simultaneously. This energy can help us, though, in travelling, going on adventure or researching, if we channel it wisely.

Divine & Shadow Qualities

Soma represents the flow of bliss within us. Consciously or unconsciously we are always on the search for bliss and fulfilment. But do we really find it? Does our search lead us to our goal? Often our search is similar to a musk deer, jumping from one place to another, desperately seeking the source of beautiful fragrance, not realising that the source is in its own navel. Similarly Soma reminds us to search fulfilment less in the external pleasures and more within ourselves, by stilling our mind in the present moment and extracting the nectar of bliss out of it.

Mrigashira In-Depth

On Mrigashira in-depth you will learn about such details of Mrigashira Nakshatra and its presiding deity, Soma, which you never heard on any other course. I can promise you that. On this course we dive deep not only into the wisdom of the nakshatra itself, but we also have a close look at the anatomy of the nakshatra, with its 4 unique padas and special degrees. You will also learn about various yogas formed with Mrigashira Nakshatra.

Spiritual aspect of the nakshatras was always most fascinating for me. Being on spiritual path for more than 12 years, I was always asking myself a question, what the Moon is trying to teach me, when it passes, day by day, through each nakshatra, awakening its dormant shakti. A spiritual approach to the nakshatras and seeking their deeper wisdom in everyday life is what makes my nakshatra classes unique and quite different from others.

I believe that knowledge can gain its real value only once we learn how to apply it. Each of our classes completes with a detailed analysis of chosen study cases, so you can learn better, how the shakti of the nakshatra can manifest in people’s real lives. After each class you will also receive at least 20 study cases for self-study, so you can start observing some patterns and feel more confident in noticing the influence of the nakshatras.
