Bharani

Surrendering to the flow of life

I am Bharani.
I bring death and rebirth.
I am the river that carries away that which is no longer yours.
I help you let go of the old burdens, so that you may find freedom to be reborn into something new.
I teach you that when you choose to relax into the present moment, things will fall into place, even without you trying to control them or being in charge.

Bharani profile
oṃ iṃ īṃ bharaṇī nakṣatrayai namaḥ

Yama, god of death, endings and mortality, teaches us when to surrender to the flow of life and let go, as well as inspires us to conserve our prana through healthy self-restraint.

The cosmic force of Bharani nakshatra is called apabharani shakti – “power to take things away with the waters”. Like the powerful waves of the ocean, it takes the things away from us, and carries them further. It inspires us to let go of our attachments and go with the flow of life, instead of clinging to all those things and relations that we are so attached to. Because whenever something dies, the new beginning is already awaiting. Even though Yamaraj, god of death and mortality, is presiding over this lunar mansion, its symbol is at the same time the womb, or yoni, through which we come into this world. “As a person puts on new garments, giving up old ones, the soul similarly accepts new material bodies, giving up the old and useless ones”, explained Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita, and compares happiness and distress of material life to changing seasons. Similarly Bharani nakshatra inspires us to see beyond the temporary grief and loss, not to block the natural flow of life by hanging onto the past. Because only when we accept death and endings, paradoxically, we truly become alive.

In many cultures and spiritual traditions meditating on one’s own death was considered a very liberating practice. When you lay down in shavasana (corpse position in yoga, ideal for complete relaxation of the body) in the dark room, relax all your muscles and relax completely into the present moment, imagining, what would be, if in that very moment you would die, there is a sort of catharsis happening within you. Suddenly you see your entire life in a completely different light and in a bigger context. It becomes so much easier to let go of so many things and forgive – because in front of death all the little human conflicts seem so unimportant. This is what Bharani nakshatra is trying to teach us – to unblock the healthy flow of life by embracing the change and seeming endings. To relax a little bit more into the present moment and instead of fearing what is new and unknown, to trust the mighty flow of the ocean life and to have faith that it always takes us in our destined direction. And if that direction doesn’t seem very pleasant, perhaps it is time to change something inside ourselves.

Divine & Shadow Qualities

Yamaraj, god of mortal life presiding over Bharani nakshatra, is the one who shows us the path from our mundane life towards the freedom of liberated soul. He helps us to let go of the past unfulfilled desires and expectations, forgive what needs to be forgiven, and move on with the flow of life. Yet, the powerful influence of Yamaraj can sometimes make us also too rigid about the rules, too serious, or – on the contrary – indulging too much in the sensual pleasures.

Bharani In-Depth

On Bharani in-depth you will learn about such details of Bharani Nakshatra and its presiding deity, Yamaraj, which you never heard on any other course. I can promise you that. On this course we dive deep not only into the wisdom of the nakshatra itself, but we also have a close look at the anatomy of the nakshatra, with its 4 unique padas and special degrees. You will also learn about various yogas formed with Bharani Nakshatra.

Spiritual aspect of the nakshatras was always most fascinating for me. Being on spiritual path for more than 12 years, I was always asking myself a question, what the Moon is trying to teach me, when it passes, day by day, through each nakshatra, awakening its dormant shakti. A spiritual approach to the nakshatras and seeking their deeper wisdom in everyday life is what makes my nakshatra classes unique and quite different from others.

I believe that knowledge can gain its real value only once we learn how to apply it. Each of our classes completes with a detailed analysis of chosen study cases, so you can learn better, how the shakti of the nakshatra can manifest in people’s real lives. After each class you will also receive at least 20 study cases for self-study, so you can start observing some patterns and feel more confident in noticing the influence of the nakshatras.
